Contemporary Abstract Painting Holidays/Tours...

...The Courses - Abstract Contemporary Art Painting/Tours 5days

You will be taken out on location at various times. Field trips and gallery visits
are a crucial part of this course to help you to gain an sight into different ways
of thinking, looking and responding to the world around us and into our selves.
We will gather visual references using a variety of methods.

On this course we will travel down to visit the Newlyn Art
Gallery which is an exciting and challenging venue that exhibits contemporary art and the best of local painting and then the
stunning new art space The Exchange Gallery, Penzance,
opened to the public in Summer2009. Showcasing the very
best of national and international contemporary art - including
that produced in the region. We will then follow the coast and
the paths of many Cornish Artists to Landsend, St Just,
Botaalick and Zennor. Stopping for lunch on route we make our way to Tate
St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum.

I will also take you to various inspirational spots on the Cornish South Coast.
We will compare and contrast dramatic coast lines of the Roseland, Ancient
Churches, Tin Mines and Fishing Villages. The course also includes a walking
tour of Mevagissey Harbour and an early morning walk (before breakfast!)
through the wooded paths leading up to the famous Heligan Gardens.

After all this inspiration you will have 3 practical working days. The course is
intensive, days are long but exciting. Be prepared to experiment and
investigate.
